This is Markie, she is 4 1/2 years old. Markie was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was only 2 years old. Markie has had 3 brain surgeries the last one at the end of February 2005. During this last surgery Markie suffered a stroke. The stroke left Makie unable to speak or move her right arm or leg. In the weeks since the surgery, the doctors sent Markie home to help speed her recovery. In the last few weeks Markie is speaking and walking again. She is gaining more and more control with her right arm.

What you need to know about Markie is she is an amazing little girl, with great determination. There is not alot that Markie wants that she doesn't get. And when she decided she wanted to speak or walk she did it! She has a great support in family and friends. In the weeks and months to come, there will be alot of things happening, some will be good and others not so good. Markie and her family ask that you continue to pray.
